The PStart included with the USB apps I have assembled is already configured to launch most of the apps. You can also save short notes on the Notes tab. It functions as a second start menu just for your USB apps. Once you start PStart you can access it via a popup from its systray icon.

Now when you want to launch the portable versions of Firefox, Gaim, Opera, OpenOffice, FileZilla, Thunderbird, Sunbird, AbiWord or NVU, you must have your encrypted Q: drive mounted. Move the folder called PortableApps from the root of your flash drive to the Q: drive.
If it isn't, right click on your flash drive in Explorer and select TrueCrypt Mount and mount the partition. Make sure your files.tc has been mounted to the Q: drive. This will allow you to store favorites and profile settings in the encrypted files.tc you created above. Extra Security If you want to be a little more cautios, you can run some of the apps from the encrypted partition you created. o PStart - Launches PStart (see below) o Explore - If you want to browse the contents of your flash drive. o TrueCrypt Start - If you want to manually mount or dismount encrypted volumes. o TrueCrypt Dismount All - This will dismount any and all encrypted volumes. o TrueCrypt Backup - This will backup your Q: drive (if you have it mounted) to C:USBBackup. This is included in case Autorun is turned off or you don't have WinXP SP2. o TrueCrypt Mount - This will attempt to mount the encrypted volume you created as the Q: drive. (Make sure you dismount the volume before you unplug your drive) To access the advanced features of this flash drive setup, right click on the drive in the the My Computer window.

If you enter the password correctly, it will mount your encrypted volume as the Q: drive. This password is the one you specified when you created the TrueCrypt volume during the initial setup.
Usage If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2, when you insert your drive into a USB port, it will prompt you for a password. Create a folder on your C: drive called USBBackup (if you want to use the backup feature). On the Volume Format screen, leave the defaults and select Format. (Make sure it is a STRONG password that you won't forget) 8. This has to be smaller than the remaing free space on your thumbdrive. (If you don't know what to do, just accept the defaults) 6. Select your Encryption Options and then click Next. If your thumbdrive is mounted as the G: drive, type G:files.tc) 5. In Volume Location, type "X:files.tc" Where X: is the volume letter for your thumbdrive and then click Next. Click "Next" at the first screen (this will create a standard TrueCrypt volume). Click "Create Volume" button to start TrueCrypt Volume Creation Wizard. Setup an encrypted partition to secure sensitive files. Delete everything from your current USB drive. Initial Setup Warning: Backup your current USB drive! 1. If you already have TrueCrypt installed on your system, it must be version 4.1. Admin Rights (For TrueCrypt functionality) 5.
